3. FEP: My Favourite Facilities in the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEP)
As a student of the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEP), I have spent a significant amount of time within the faculty grounds. Over the semesters, certain facilities have become more than just physical spaces, they have become part of my daily routine and university experience. Among all the facilities available in FEP, these three are my personal favourites.
1. Lecture Halls – Where Learning Happens
The lecture halls are undoubtedly one of the most important facilities in FEP. This is where most of my classes take place, where I learn from lecturers, engage in discussions, and gain new knowledge related to economics and management.
While some students may associate lecture halls with assignments, quizzes, and examinations, I see them as places where ideas are exchanged and perspectives are broadened. Every semester brings different subjects, different lecturers, and different classmates, making each lecture hall experience unique in its own way.
As a part-time student balancing work and studies, attending lectures also reminds me of why I decided to pursue higher education in the first place. Therefore, the lecture halls hold a special place in my academic journey.
2. FEP Foyer – The Social Hub of the Faculty
If the lecture halls represent the academic side of university life, then the FEP Foyer represents the social side.
The foyer is often filled with students between classes. It serves as a meeting point where friends catch up, discuss assignments, prepare for presentations, or simply take a short break before heading to their next class. I have spent many hours here talking with classmates, exchanging ideas, and getting to know people from different backgrounds.
The foyer is also a venue for various faculty events and activities. One memorable occasion is the Dean's Award Ceremony (Anugerah Dekan FEP), where students are recognised for their academic achievements. Events such as these create a sense of community and motivate students to continue striving for excellence.
Because of its lively atmosphere and role in bringing students together, the FEP Foyer is undoubtedly one of my favourite places in the faculty.
3. FEP Prayer Room – A Place of Peace and Reflection
University life can become quite demanding, especially when juggling classes, assignments, examinations, work commitments, and personal responsibilities. During busy days, the FEP prayer room provides a quiet and comfortable space to pause and recharge.
Beyond its primary function as a place of worship, the prayer room offers an environment that encourages reflection and peace of mind. It allows students to step away from the pressures of academic life, even if only for a few moments, before returning to their daily activities with a clearer mind.
I particularly appreciate the calm atmosphere of the prayer room. In a university environment that is often busy and fast-paced, having a dedicated space for prayer and reflection is something I value greatly.
Conclusion
Each of these facilities contributes to a different aspect of my experience as an FEP student. The lecture halls support my academic development, the FEP Foyer encourages social interaction and student engagement, while the prayer room provides a place for spiritual well-being and personal reflection. Together, they make FEP more than just a faculty, it is a place where students learn, grow, connect with others, and create lasting memories throughout their university journey.
